I believe that art and design influence every aspect of our lives, from how we think to how (and even why) we live. I often think of the Latin aphorism “ars longa, vita brevis,” which translates to “art is long, life is short.” The proverb suggests that dedication to art is a life well spent, since one’s legacy lives on posthumously in their creations.

I graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Spanish. I tailored my degree to include all periods and styles of art history, which gave me broad context of the subject as well as allowing me to hone my skills including research, academic writing, visual analysis, and synthesizing complex information into digestible presentations. My education included architectural history and design, both of which influence my work within the arts. I believe that all disciplines are intertwined.

My academic background is cemented by my professional experience in museums and several arts organizations in the greater Seattle region. My passion for inclusive access to the arts, preservation of art history, and personal creative expression drives me to continue to pursue excellence in my field.
